Experienced Healthcare Assistant or Practice Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team at Alresford Surgery as a Healthcare Assistant or Practice Nurse. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a senior practice nurse and will be responsible for assisting the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the provision and delivery of patient care, including ECG recording, phlebotomy, immunisations, and wound assessment and dressing.
- Perform chaperoning duties and process and manage laboratory samples requested by GPs and nurses.
- Assist in the maintenance of surgical equipment, including sterilisation, cleansing, and storage.
- Monitor and record vaccine and cold chain storage, and restock and rotate surgical equipment and vaccines.
- Clear and restock consulting rooms, and prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions.
- Assist in the assessment and surveillance of patients' health and well-being, and undertake specific clinical activities for named patients.
- Help to raise awareness of health and well-being, and assist with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being.
The post-holder will be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of patient information, and will adhere to the practice's policies and procedures on confidentiality and data protection.
Health and SafetyThe post-holder will be responsible for implementing and leading on health and safety and infection control procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment, hand hygiene, and the management of sharps and waste.
