Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team at Alresford Surgery as a Healthcare Assistant or Practice Nurse. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a senior practice nurse and in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • ECG recording and analysis
  • Phlebotomy and blood sample collection
  • Immunisations and vaccination administration
  • Assessment and dressing of wounds
  • Chaperoning duties and patient support
  • Processing and management of laboratory samples
  • Sterilising, cleansing, and maintenance of surgical equipment
  • Vaccine and cold chain storage, monitoring, and recording
  • Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
  • Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
  • Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment for patient care
  • Assisting GPs during minor operations
  • Assessing and surveilling patient health and well-being
  • Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients
  • Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being
  • Assisting with data collection on health and well-being needs

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Qualified to NVQ 2/3 in a health-related subject (if HCA)
  • Registered Nurse (if Practice Nurse)
  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register (if Nurse Associate)

Experience

  • Experience of working in a primary care environment
  • Experience of working as a Practice Nurse, HCA, or Nurse Associate
