Job Title: SEND Teacher

Leader Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teacher to join our team of professionals working with students with complex Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) in the Huddersfield area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEND.
  • Establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with diverse learning needs, including those with SLD, PMLD, Hearing and Visual impairment, and challenging behaviors.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including Teaching Assistants, Occupational Therapists, and Speech and Language Therapists, to provide comprehensive support.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, behavior, and well-being, sharing information with parents and carers as necessary.

Requirements:

  • PGCE/QTS/QTLS qualification.
  • Experience working with students with SEND, with a strong understanding of their needs and strategies for effective support.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Adaptability and initiative to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
