SEND Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team in Kirklees. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex learning needs, providing tailored support to ensure they reach their full potential.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, adapting learning activities to meet their individual needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans, ensuring each student has the opportunity to succeed.
  • Implement personalized strategies to support the social, emotional, and educational development of students.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour, using positive reinforcement to encourage progress and engagement.
  • Provide support with personal care needs as required, maintaining the dignity and wellbeing of each pupil.
  • Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents to foster a collaborative approach to education.
Requirements:
  • Experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant, preferably in a similar school setting.
  • A strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with special educational needs and the ability to implement effective support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of people.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of the role.
