About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pest Control Specialist to join our team at Incommunities, a leading social housing landlord and one of the largest housing providers in the region. As a Pest Control Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering a fully integrated and comprehensive pest management service within our neighbourhoods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the provision of a pest control service, following work programmes, inspecting and monitoring work progress to effectively and efficiently deliver a fully integrated and comprehensive customer-focused Pest Management service within Estate Services.
  • Lead investigations into, and take action to resolve pest problems.
  • Update records accurately in line with procedures using IT software packages.
  • Respond to emergency situations and urgent requests as required and instructed by the Manager/Supervisor within normal day-to-day hours.
  • Take appropriate action to deal with a range of issues and situations as they arise by giving practical, appropriate advice or assistance, reporting more complex issues to the Manager for guidance.
  • Deputise for the Pest Control Team Leader in their absence.
  • Liaise with internal and external departments and agencies, such as Yorkshire Water.
  • Attend all relevant training courses, e.g. practical training, college training, and internal training associated with the post.

Requirements

  • Full UK manual driving licence (essential) with basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of COSHH/Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience in the handling of toxic chemicals and the ability to take on physically demanding activities.
  • An understanding of Health and Safety as it relates to the role and the measures needed to do the job safely.
  • You will possess a minimum qualification of RSPH or BPCA Level 2 with a minimum one year practical experience, alternatively full training will be provided.
  • A broad understanding of housing and estate management standards and practices, including arrears, lettings, exchanges, repairs, rents.
  • The ability to demonstrate experience in pest control and experience of using hand tools and/or power-operated equipment.
  • The ability to recognise and appreciate the needs of vulnerable customers and deal with them in a sensitive manner.
  • The ability to make decisions on the effective management of properties and to be prepared to refer more complex matters to managers.
