Key Responsibilities:

In light of a recent vacancy, we are looking for a Financial Reporting Specialist to join our onsite finance team. This role will report directly to the Financial Controller and will encompass the following key responsibilities:

  • Accurately assess stock and work in progress (WIP) valuations in line with accounting standards.
  • Generate period-end stock and WIP valuation reports, ensuring reconciliation with the General Ledger and identifying items for the Excess and Obsolete stock provision.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including accrual and prepayment calculations.
  • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results against planned forecasts.
  • Execute monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide leadership and support to the Finance Administrator.
  • Record monthly payroll entries in the General Ledger.
  • Report on labour hours utilization.
  • Oversee inter-company invoicing and reconcile group balances.
  • Prepare VAT returns for submission to HMRC.
  • Engage in additional tasks and projects to assist the Financial Controller and Site Leadership Team.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Fully qualified or finalist in CIMA or ACCA.
  • Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proven experience in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within teams.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly in MS Excel for spreadsheet development and manipulation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
  • Experience with new systems implementations is a plus.
  • This role is also suitable for individuals aspiring to advance towards a Financial Controller position in the future.
