Your Role: As a key member of the Corporate Affairs team, you will report directly to the Director of Communications & Commercial Marketing. Your primary responsibility will be to manage essential corporate and trade media relations for News UK and its various business units, including Times Media, News Broadcasting, and The Sun. Collaborating with diverse stakeholders, you will play a vital role in articulating the narrative of one of the UK's most dynamic media organizations.

In this position, you will cultivate media relationships with significant contacts across a spectrum of business media outlets, focusing on core corporate functions such as marketing, broadcasting, commercial operations, publishing, retail, and technology. You will also create communications across owned corporate channels, including newsletters, the corporate website, LinkedIn, and Twitter, while working closely with trade marketing to implement effective strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute proactive B2B media relations strategies tailored to the needs of various stakeholders within News UK.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Director and Heads of Communications for Times Media and The Sun to craft and implement the corporate and B2B communications strategy for each division.
  • Manage the press office for internal clients while identifying opportunities to highlight success stories at industry events and award ceremonies.
  • Work alongside the Head of Trade Marketing and external PR agencies to ensure all B2B and commercial communications are cohesive and consistent.
  • Partner with the Senior Internal Communications Manager to ensure unified storytelling for your clients and support the external employer brand.
  • Address issues management as they arise and assist the EVP, Director of Corporate Affairs as needed.
  • Ensure the corporate website effectively showcases B2B success stories and thought leadership content.
  • Collaborate with a Communications Executive to optimize professional networks, including LinkedIn and Twitter.
  • Produce and enhance weekly commercial newsletters and other impactful tools, videos, and events to engage our audiences.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of B2B communications and report performance metrics to internal clients based on established KPIs.

What We Seek:

  • A strong passion for media, news, and current affairs.
  • A proven track record of five or more years in delivering high-impact corporate communications and B2B media relations, preferably within a Technology, Media, or Telecoms context.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, along with excellent organizational and planning skills, capable of managing multiple clients and campaigns.
  • Creative thinking and a commitment to being a strategic partner to your clients.
  • The ability to quickly build effective networks and influence senior stakeholders and external media.
  • Experience in high-pressure press office environments, with strong prioritization skills.
  • Background in issues management, award submissions, and briefings for industry events.
  • A proactive mindset, with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to work outside of standard hours when necessary in a fast-paced media environment.
