Assistant Buyer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Buyer to join our team at Candidate Source Ltd. As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Procurement Manager to ensure the efficient running of the material purchasing function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Procurement Manager in ensuring materials are delivered to sites on time and within budget.
  • Collate documentation and issue material tender enquiries to suppliers.
  • Assess and compare material quotations to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Process new material orders and maintain accurate records.
  • Produce monthly reports detailing material spend and provide insights for cost savings.
  • Research new and relevant products to support the Procurement Manager in making informed purchasing decisions.
  • Check invoices for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Monitor material lead times and communicate with site managers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Assist with site call-offs and provide general support to the Contracts & Estimating team as needed.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers to maximize the profitability of the company.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a procurement or buying role.
  • General education to GCSE grade A-C or equivalent.
  • IT literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
  • Experience in negotiations and networking.
  • Experience in managing the end-to-end procurement process.
  • Experience or background in procurement of building & construction materials.

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00. You will receive a salary of £26,000 - £28,000 per annum, plus a company pension. To apply for this role, please click apply online and upload an updated copy of your CV.
