Job Opportunity at Durham University

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated scientist to join our team as an Assistant Professor in Condensed Matter Physics. The successful candidate will have a strong research background in condensed matter/materials physics and a passion for teaching and mentoring students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cutting-edge experimental investigations of magnetic systems, such as topological magnetic materials and quantum magnetism.
  • Establish collaborations with international research facilities, such as x-ray and neutron sources.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality research-led teaching in an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Publish high-quality research in top-tier journals and engage with industrial partners.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Physics or a related subject.
  • Established record of research at an internationally competitive level.
  • Potential for teaching and postgraduate student supervision.
  • Commitment to developing an inclusive and welcoming working environment.
