We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Professor in Condensed Matter Physics to join our vibrant research community at Durham University. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of internationally excellent research and teaching programmes, and play a vital role in shaping the future of our department.
Key Responsibilities- Pursue high-quality research in the field of soft condensed matter physics, with a focus on theoretical and experimental approaches.
- Develop and deliver high-quality teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students, including lectures, seminars, and tutorials.
- Contribute to the administrative work of the department, including committee membership and pastoral support for students.
- Engage in collaborative research activities with colleagues from across the department and beyond.
- Play a key role in the development of our research environment, including the mentoring of early career researchers and the supervision of PhD students.
- PhD in Physics or a related subject.
- Excellent research and teaching skills, with a strong track record of publications and teaching experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
