Introduction: We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Compensation and Benefits Specialist to join our team at Adecco.

Role Overview: This position is focused on supporting the Payroll Manager and Senior Payroll Officer in the efficient management of all payroll-related transactions and reporting, including pension contributions and various employment payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of salaries, overtime, expenses, and allowances in line with organizational policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Pension Hub colleagues to provide payroll-related assistance on pension matters affecting the organization.
  • Offer financial guidance to employees regarding payroll entitlements, including salaries, allowances, expense claims, and pension contributions.
  • Maintain comprehensive audit trails and financial records to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Conduct thorough audits and reviews of payroll payments to guarantee correctness and value for money.
  • Engage in proactive validation and verification of payroll transactions, including trend analysis and exception reporting.
  • Work closely with HR and Finance teams to uphold high standards of data integrity and accuracy, providing necessary payroll information for reporting purposes.
  • Facilitate training sessions on payroll processes and entitlements for staff.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll records efficiently.
  • Prepare and accurately recharge salary costs for seconded personnel, adhering to financial procedures.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and management, ensuring a customer-centric approach.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of National Insurance, PAYE, SMP, and SSP.
  • Familiarity with Local Government and Police Pension schemes.
  • Understanding of the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and HMRC guidelines.
  • Welsh language skills at Level 1 are essential; Level 2 and above are preferred.
  • A recognized business or payroll administration qualification at NVQ Level 4 or equivalent, or relevant experience in supervising payroll services.
  • Evidence of continued professional development and experience in a busy payroll environment within a large organization.
  • Experience with computerized Payroll and HR systems and handling large volumes of payroll transactions.
  • Ability to manage complex payroll issues and calculations effectively.
