Job Description

The Finishing Manager is responsible for the management of Finishing Trade Sub-Contractors and personnel on site to ensure successful completion of the project on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Finishing Trade Sub-Contractors to ensure programmes are maintained and services are co-ordinated effectively.
  • Coordinate with Site Manager to ensure Sub-Contractors programmes and co-ordination are aligned.
  • Work with Senior Engineer to ensure engineering details and Sub-Contractors co-ordination are in place.
  • Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors on cost issues.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing Manager for procurement of bulk items.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality & Environmental Manager's requirements for site records in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Work with Site Clerk to requisition materials and plant.
  • Assist with the control of plant and equipment on site.
  • Compile labour allocation sheets for all Bennett Direct labour and hired labor involved in finishing trades.
  • Maintain a daily Site Diary recording all manpower levels for finishing trade Sub-Contractors and keep accurate notes of on-site activities.
  • Schedule weekly Work Programmes for Finishing trades and review weekly progress Reports from the Master Construction Programme.
  • Ensure work is carried out to the highest of standards.
  • Deal with all Health and Safety issues on site.
  • Motivate Labourors and sub-contractors.
  • Attend Bennett weekly Management Team meetings.
  • Provide clear leadership and direction to the site team while maintaining a professional manner.

Requirements:

  • Preferably 5 years Finishing Manager experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills.
