IT Technical Specialist

Join our team as a Senior IT Technical Engineer / Senior Network Engineer at our manufacturing facility in Flimby, Maryport. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a global company that empowers people through innovation and craftsmanship.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT professional to maintain our infrastructure, networks, and systems. As a Senior IT Technical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing network hardware and IT equipment, administering upgrades, and participating in Agile teams.
This role requires strong technical expertise in networking, computer systems, and software, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with stakeholders. You will also be responsible for translating technical requirements from manufacturing partners into actionable plans for the IT team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee network hardware and IT equipment on site, ensuring all end devices remain connected.
- Administer upgrades for equipment, hardware, and software, while maintaining asset management records.
- Participate in Agile teams with daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and iteration planning.
- Translate technical requirements from manufacturing partners into actionable plans for the IT team.
- Recommend, implement, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
- Create and maintain IT documentation, including network configurations, mappings, and service records.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training for staff as needed.
- Manage IT contracts and identify opportunities to maximize ROI.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure high-quality IT service delivery.
Requirements include:
- Valid Driving License and Passport, as travel across the UK and Europe is required.
- Strong knowledge of networking technologies such as Cisco Catalyst switching, Cisco Meraki MS/MR/MX, Palo Alto Firewalls, HPE Aruba Wireless Controllers, and cloud-based solutions.
- CCNA certification is a plus.
- Extensive experience troubleshooting complex enterprise networks and systems.
- Hands-on technical expertise with network and operating systems.
- Strong customer service focus and ability to work collaboratively with global IT teams.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment and working in an Agile team is beneficial.
