Role Responsibilities
This part-time position involves contributing to our outpatient rehabilitation services, primarily based at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital. The Trust is dedicated to fostering a supportive atmosphere that values diversity and promotes professional growth within the healthcare sector.
As a key member of both the Plastics Rehabilitation and Rheumatology/Orthopaedic teams, the successful candidate will provide specialized assessments and treatments for hand patients referred from multiple sources, including Plastic Surgery, Orthopaedics, and Nursing teams. Flexibility in working across professional disciplines is essential, as collaboration with Occupational and Physiotherapists is a core aspect of this role.
The caseload will vary but will predominantly include elective, trauma, and conservative hand patients, encompassing both adult and pediatric cases. Additional cases may involve cancers, congenital deformities, and rheumatological conditions. Treatment settings will include clinics, rehabilitation departments, and inpatient wards. The role requires comprehensive assessments and appropriate interventions, including splinting and rehabilitation strategies, along with effective communication skills to manage complex patient scenarios.
Work Schedule: This position requires a commitment of hours per week over three days, specifically Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with occasional weekend shifts on a rotational basis.
