About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Health Improvement Advisor to join our Public Health Department and contribute to the delivery of vital health improvement services within Derbyshire.

As a Health Improvement Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals to achieve their holistic wellbeing goals. This involves providing expert guidance and support in areas such as weight management, physical activity, and smoking cessation. You will work closely with clients to identify their needs, develop personalized action plans, and empower them to make positive lifestyle changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive wellbeing assessments to determine individual needs and priorities.
  • Deliver tailored interventions and support in weight management, smoking cessation, and physical activity.
  • Facilitate group and one-on-one sessions to provide expert guidance and behavioral support.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, fostering trust and encouraging their active participation in the process.
  • Collaborate effectively with partner agencies to ensure seamless access to specialist services when required.
  • Maintain accurate client records and contribute to data collection for service evaluation and improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Level 2 qualification in Understanding Health Improvement or the willingness to undertake this upon appointment.
  • NCSCT Level 2 Smoking Cessation Training or a willingness to complete this within six months of appointment (for roles involving smoking cessation support).
