We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Paediatric Triage Nurse to join our dynamic team in the Children\u2019s Emergency Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the triage flow within the department, adhering to the 15-minute triage wait and initiating rapid triage when the wait exceeds the standard.

You will work closely with our paediatric clinical team, including paediatric clinical band 7\u2019s, paediatric band 6\u2019s, paediatric band 5\u2019s, HCA\u2019s, and Play specialists to provide a comprehensive and high-quality service to our patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the triage flow within the department, adhering to the 15-minute triage wait and initiating rapid triage when the wait exceeds the standard.
  • Work closely with the paediatric clinical team to provide a comprehensive and high-quality service to our patients.
  • Complete the Manchester Triage train the trainer study to support the Practice Development Nurse (PDN) to train and supervise junior staff in completing triage competencies.
  • Be a role model to junior members of the nursing team and provide guidance and support as needed.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience of working in a Paediatric Emergency Department.
  • Experience of audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in a multidisciplinary team.
