Design Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our Engineering team at MWH Treatment's East Midlands office. This is a hybrid working role, offering the perfect balance of flexibility and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects through their design phases, ensuring cost-effective, technically compliant, and buildable solutions are delivered in line with stakeholder requirements and programme expectations.
  • Develop and implement design management plans, documenting all elements of design and preparing monthly status update reports as necessary.
  • Attend and contribute to programme, project, and technical meetings, ensuring that the technical solution is produced to outperform on costs while maintaining quality standards and delivery on time.
  • Provide technical support during construction, assembly, and commissioning stages, ensuring that all technical work is undertaken to the correct standards and specifications.
  • Manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost, and quality objectives, with a focus on excellence in Health & Safety (H&S) in design.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience of multi-disciplinary design management in a design-build environment.
  • APM Project Fundamentals Qualification and working towards or have obtained APM Project Management Qualification.
  • Experience in large-scale project delivery, with strategic, operational, technical, and management skills.
  • Good general knowledge of all aspects of water treatment.
  • Knowledge of BIM procedures and techniques.
