Job Title: 3D AutoCAD Design Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead our SED team in managing, coordinating, and executing clean water design projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering design and project management, with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the design team in producing design outputs compliant with client specifications and standards.
  2. Manage specialist external design resources as required.
  3. Prepare and agree proposals, programmes, and resource management to ensure the design team delivers in line with financial approvals and programme.
  4. Produce and manage programmes for all design projects, ensuring client expectations are suitably managed.
  5. Carry out site scoping/survey visits as required to obtain information necessary for design development.
  6. Ensure all design is developed, produced, and approved in line with company QA procedures.
  7. Review, audit, and approve technical reports, appraisals, designs, and drawings to ensure compliance with client health and safety and technical standards.
  8. Arrange and chair workshops and regular design meetings to review design proposals and progress.
  9. Assist with placement and management of procurement packages.
  10. Support project managers and directors within the business.
  11. Maintain design input throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

  1. 5 years experience in a similar role, preferably clean water based.
  2. BTEC HNC/HND in an engineering field as a minimum.
  3. EUSR water hygiene card.
  4. Competent in using Microsoft Word & Excel.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Degree in an engineering field.
  2. Strong AutoCAD design skills will be advantageous.
  3. Ability to use Microsoft project to manage programmes.
  4. Membership with relevant professional body.
  5. Multi-disciplinary knowledge desired.
