Ravensworth Surgery is a reputable healthcare provider seeking a skilled and experienced Practice Nurse to join our team. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our practice.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing basic practice nursing services and care to our patients. This will include, but is not limited to:

  • Immunizations and screening programs
  • Opportunistic consultations and chronic disease reviews
  • Ear care and wound management
  • Health promotion and education
  • Contraception and sexual health advice
  • Child health and adult safeguarding

Main Responsibilities

As a Practice Nurse, you will:

  • Implement and lead on a full range of promotion and management of health and safety and infection control
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the general practice team to meet the needs of patients
  • Liaise with members of the wider community and hospital teams to ensure holistic care
  • Initiate and manage a methodical assessment of patient needs
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols and guidelines
  • Audit and maintain equipment, storage of vaccinations and stock levels

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registered General Nurse qualification and experience in practice nursing
  • Recognized qualification to diploma level or above
  • Full driving license and own transport
  • Competent in basic nursing duties and excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of chronic disease management and NHS screening programs
  • Enthusiasm to develop nursing skills and understanding of strict confidentiality
  • Ability to manage workload priorities and work in a changing environment

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Certificates in chronic disease management
  • Immunization training
  • Cervical cytology taker training
  • Experience working in general practice and chronic disease management
