Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control Engineer for a permanent, full-time opportunity at WJF Technical Support Limited.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols in line with company regulations and legal standards, fostering a secure environment for all personnel and visitors.
- Facilitate the execution of operational and project-related electrical, control, and instrumentation engineering tasks, including oversight of vendors and contractors.
- Perform engineering assessments for new installations, site enhancements, and the decommissioning or replacement of EC&I equipment.
- Design EC&I systems, incorporating Functional Safety principles, and generate the necessary documentation utilizing standard software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Smartdraw, Autosketch, AutoCAD).
- Develop support documentation and training resources for end users.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of EC&I equipment.
- Implement software engineering practices across EC&I systems, including programming with Allen Bradley (Compact GuardLogix), TBox (Twinsoft), Pilz (PNOZ Configurator), and setting up network devices using various software and interfaces.
- Maintain the company’s SCADA system (Inductive Automation Ignition).
- Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques on EC&I systems and equipment.
- Adopt effective cybersecurity measures and promote the proper use of IT and C&I equipment.
- Coordinate with IT support contractors for fault reporting and resolution.
- Responsible for executing maintenance and integrity tasks in compliance with the company’s Major Accident Hazard (MAH) protocols.
Required Qualifications:
- A recognized qualification in Electrical, Control, or Instrument Engineering (e.g., HNC or Degree).
- Familiarity with Oil & Gas operations and hazardous environments is advantageous.
- Proficient in engineering documentation, including block diagrams, PFDs, SLDs, P&IDs, C&E charts, schematics, wiring diagrams, data sheets, and safety-critical elements.
- Experience in designing and implementing industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of communication devices.
- Experience with various SCADA platforms, particularly in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Understanding of basic programming, ladder logic, scripting, and SQL databases.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
- Competence in configuring Modbus serial and Modbus TCP communications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
