Job Title: Control and Instrumentation Technician

Astute Technical is working exclusively with Marchwood Power Limited, a leading power station operator in Southampton. We are seeking a skilled Control and Instrumentation Technician to join their Maintenance Team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and calibrations on instrumentation equipment, including pressure, level, flow, and temperature sensors. They will also be involved in fault finding and maintenance activities on the Control System, which includes the Siemens T3000 Control System and Siemens S7 PLCs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out pre-planned and reactive maintenance on instrumentation equipment
  • Performing fault finding and maintenance activities on the Control System
  • Ensuring maintenance plans and targets are achieved safely and within environmental parameters
  • Working in line with maintenance techniques and best practices
  • Assisting in plant developments and projects
  • Supervising and setting to work on-site contractors
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records on the site CMMS
  • Assisting in outage planning, scheduling, and coordination
Requirements:

We are looking for someone with a recognized Process Control/Instrumentation/Automation/Electronics engineering apprenticeship, ideally gained in a heavy process industry. An HNC/ONC or equivalent in relevant engineering would be advantageous. Ideally, an IOSH or NEBOSH or Health & Safety Qualification.

Personal Skills:

The successful candidate will have experience with control systems (DCS, SCADA, PLCs) and instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, level, etc.) equipment. They will also have practical knowledge of maintenance procedures and processes associated with heavy process industries.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is up to £54,500 per year, plus overtime opportunities, bonus, and full benefits package. There is also relocation assistance available for candidates willing to relocate.
