As a Senior Publisher at RELX, you will be responsible for leading a portfolio of prestigious scientific journals in the haematology and anaesthesiology specialties. With a strong focus on building and maintaining relationships within the scientific community, you will drive the strategic direction of the programme, identify opportunities for growth, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Business and Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to drive content growth, quality, and subscription and open access article balance for the portfolio of journals.
- Relationship Building: Foster influential relationships with Elsevier colleagues, external networks, and stakeholders to drive creativity, new product development, and business growth.
- Contract Management: Renew and negotiate editorial and society contracts to ensure the continued success of the journals.
- Innovation and Collaboration: Participate in projects and pilots to explore new products, services, and business models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and excellence.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with trends and developments in Scientific, Technical, and Medical (STM) publishing to maintain awareness of changes and opportunities.
- Education: University degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: Previous experience in STM publishing, with a strong understanding of the industry and its trends.
- Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Collaboration and Adaptability: A team-oriented approach, with the ability to be a self-starter and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
- Market Awareness: Ability to identify and understand market needs and opportunities for business growth.
- Travel: Willingness to travel three to four weeks per year, based on customer needs.
