About the ServiceThis facility is a 31-bed service dedicated to providing acute and high-support inpatient rehabilitation services for men facing complex mental health challenges.
Role ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will deliver psychiatric care to individuals in George Willard Ward, our 12-bed male mental health acute service. The environment is designed to be safe and stabilizing for men experiencing acute episodes of mental illness requiring emergency intervention.
Our service ethos focuses on assessing and treating clients in the least restrictive setting while ensuring timely discharge planning.
Key Duties- Lead the execution of risk assessments and management strategies while embedding clinical governance.
- Oversee reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and managers' hearings, and participate in these hearings.
- Engage in a telephone 1:7 second on-call rota.

The ideal candidate will possess:
- Extensive knowledge and experience in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnostics.
- Familiarity with the Mental Health Act and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of interviewing, assessing, and treating patients while maintaining clear and comprehensive medical documentation.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development.
