About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Children's Support Worker to join our team at Vetro Recruitment. As a Senior Children's Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young adults with emotional, behavioural, social, and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all young people.
  • Mentor and support newer staff members, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Encourage young people to take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age and abilities.
  • Contribute to maintaining a homely and friendly culture within the homes, promoting a sense of community and belonging.
  • Deal with challenging behaviours in a safe and sympathetic manner, prioritizing the well-being and safety of all young people.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare, ensuring their safety and security at all times.
  • Support young people in promoting their independence and well-being, while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with young people is essential.
  • A Full UK Driving Licence is required, as you may transport young people from time to time.
  • You must be over the age of 21.
  • NVQ or QCF level 3 in Children & Young People is essential.
  • You must be able to commute to Rudford, Gloucestershire.
