Job Role
As a Children's Support Worker, you will work closely with children in care, providing support and guidance in all aspects of their lives. Your day-to-day role will involve:
- Supporting children in educational pursuits, hobbies, and activities
- Developing and contributing to positive outcomes that shape the future of children and young people
- Working across various settings, including Mental Health, Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Education, and Residential
Key Responsibilities
- To support, safeguard, and promote the wellbeing of children and young people
- Assist with daily routines, including working in the community and/or educational settings
- Organise and facilitate social activities
- Transportation
- Work alongside a multi-disciplinary team to implement safe practice
- Offer high levels of supervision and support
- Work in line with Ofsted and CQC regulations
- Manage complex behaviours and crisis intervention
- Contribute to the young person's care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation
Requirements
- A minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience working within a child and/or young adult setting
- All candidates must be over the age of 21 to meet industry regulations
- Knowledge in one of the following areas: EBD, SEMH, CSE, or SEN/SEND
- Diploma level 3 / children's and young people, desirable level 4
