Position: Senior Instrumentation and Control EngineerLocation: Remote Contract Position
Key Requirements:
- Experienced engineer specializing in control and instrumentation with 5-10 years of expertise in production and/or project engineering settings.
- Solid comprehension of industrial operations, preferably within the oil and gas or petrochemical sectors, with the capability to interpret and analyze P&IDs.
- Thorough understanding of industrial risks and process safety, including layers of protection principles.
- Proficient technical writing skills, capable of transforming technical specifications into high-quality design documents using MS Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication abilities, maintaining a professional demeanor while collaborating with colleagues and clients.
- Strong team-oriented mindset, with the ability to work autonomously and mentor junior team members as necessary.
- Experience in the modification, configuration, testing, and commissioning of DCS/SCADA/PLC systems (both hardware and software).
- Proficiency in programming control application software utilizing IEC 61131 languages and HMIs.
- Familiarity with industrial fieldbus technologies, such as Profibus.
- Experience in programming serial interfaces using the Modbus protocol.
- Knowledge of ABB System 800xA and AC800M / AC800M HI hardware and software maintenance or configuration.
- Understanding of Functional Safety standards (IEC 61508 / 61511), certification (FSEng), and/or project experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
- Awareness of OT Cyber Security requirements (IEC 62443).
- Experience in the modification and configuration of industrial Ethernet networks, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with the modification and configuration of Windows operating systems for operational technology environments.
