JOB OVERVIEW

As a Senior Technical Authority in Instrumentation and Control, your expertise in Oil & Gas projects will be invaluable. This role is primarily based in the UK, with opportunities for travel to various project sites. Your contributions will be essential in ensuring the successful execution of our operations and maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the management of major accident hazard risks, enhancing awareness and visibility of risk management strategies while ensuring workforce engagement.
  • Establish the philosophy, strategy, and standards for the technical discipline, integrating industry best practices.
  • Review and approve or reject deviations from established standards, ensuring necessary risk mitigation measures are in place.
  • Maintain oversight of safe operations, including the review and approval of technical content in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
  • Collaborate with other Technical Authorities to manage boundary issues between disciplines effectively.
  • Lead incident investigations and provide technical support, ensuring all incidents are reported, classified, and lessons learned are documented.
  • Conduct risk assessments and technical analyses to support the instrumentation discipline, coordinating specialist technical support as needed.
  • Take ownership of issues raised by regulators or third parties, ensuring compliance and resolution.
  • Monitor and analyze discipline performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement, and recommend action plans accordingly.
  • Ensure that the technical discipline maintains effective controls in a transparent and efficient manner.
  • Drive optimization efforts to enhance reliability and efficiency across a diverse asset portfolio.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Appropriate qualifications and experience to be recognized as the Instrument Technical Authority.
  • Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
