If you resonate with these qualities, the Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Clinical Support Assistant to become a vital part of our expanding Multi-Disciplinary Team.
You will be welcomed into a warm, encouraging, and innovative multi-disciplinary environment that includes Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and administrative staff. This team is dedicated to providing assessment and intervention for young individuals facing learning disabilities, alongside mental health challenges, emotional distress, or those exhibiting challenging behaviors. Our approach is grounded in the principles of Positive Behaviour Support.
This role will involve working throughout the region under the guidance of experienced therapists.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a Clinical Support Assistant to assist the Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapist. The ideal candidate will be skilled and knowledgeable in executing tasks assigned by registered professionals, which include conducting assessments, implementing and evaluating personalized care plans, and developing accessible resources. The Clinical Support Assistant will be expected to apply both practical and theoretical knowledge, maintain strong therapeutic and professional relationships in all aspects of care, and demonstrate a variety of communication skills tailored to the needs of service users.
The successful candidate will receive both clinical and managerial supervision, along with training as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the role.

Qualifications
Essential
- Full Driving License.
- Educational background demonstrating the ability to comprehend and interpret complex information (GCSE/A levels).
- NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field or equivalent.
- Willingness to pursue further training and education in line with Trust Policy and Staff Competency Framework.
Desirable
- Degree-level education in a related field or equivalent clinical experience.
- Relevant educational achievements or CPD courses completed.
- Openness to further study, training, and development in alignment with the needs of this position.
Experience
Essential
- Experience working with individuals with additional learning needs and/or neurodiversity, particularly those exhibiting challenging behaviors.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Practical experience in health, educational, or social care settings.
- Experience in planning and managing one’s own workload and prioritizing competing demands, demonstrating effective time management.
- Knowledge of the impact of disabilities on health and understanding of person-centered practices.
