Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Engine Test Engineer to join our team at Seismic Recruitment. As an Automotive Engine Test Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering engineering objectives, generating engine installation packs, and identifying engine/test delivery faults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Engineering Objectives: Work with Senior Engineers, Principal Engineers, or Engineering Managers to achieve set objectives.
  • Generate Engine Installation Packs: Create accurate test bed setups and engine installation packs.
  • Identify Engine/Test Delivery Faults: Collaborate with colleagues to find effective solutions for engine/test delivery faults.
  • Process and Validate Engine Test Data: Analyze engine test data and understand correct trends and causes for concern.
  • Support Colleagues: Assist colleagues as required to achieve wider goals.
  • Track Project Efficiency: Maintain project-related invoicing and track project efficiency.
  • Devise Initiatives: Lead initiatives to reduce waste and optimize efficiency.
  • Participate in Customer Update Meetings: Take an active part in regular customer update meetings.
Requirements
  • Automotive/Mechanical Engineering Qualification: HND, Degree, or relevant experience in testbed operation.
  • Experience in Automotive Engineering Discipline: Experience in an automotive engineering discipline.
  • Test Bed Experience: Test bed experience in an automotive testing environment.
  • Instrumentation Experience: Excellent understanding of gasoline and diesel engine mechanical fundamentals, instrumentation experience (thermocouples, pressure transducers, etc.).
  • Test Automation Procedures: Ability to create test automation procedures/schedules to maximize automated running.
  • Customer Engineering Teams: Working closely with customer engineering teams to establish and carry out test programs.
  • Engine Types: Experience with a wide variety of engine types (petrol, diesel, high-performance, heavy-duty, alternative fuels).
