Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Engine Test Engineer to join our team at Seismic Recruitment. As an Automotive Engine Test Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering engineering objectives, generating engine installation packs, and identifying engine/test delivery faults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Engineering Objectives: Collaborate with Senior Engineers, Principal Engineers, and Engineering Managers to achieve set objectives.
  • Generate Engine Installation Packs: Create accurate test bed setups and engine installation packs.
  • Identify Engine/Test Delivery Faults: Analyze engine/test delivery faults and work with colleagues to find effective solutions.
  • Process and Validate Engine Test Data: Ensure accurate processing and validation of engine test data.
  • Analyze Engine Data: Understand correct trends and causes for concern in engine data.
  • Support Colleagues: Collaborate with colleagues to achieve wider goals and objectives.
  • Track Project Efficiency: Monitor project efficiency and maintain project-related invoicing.
  • Devise Initiatives: Develop and lead initiatives to reduce waste and optimize efficiency.
  • Participate in Customer Update Meetings: Engage in regular customer update meetings to ensure effective communication.
Requirements
  • Automotive/Mechanical Engineering Qualification: Hold an HND, Degree, or relevant experience in testbed operation.
  • Automotive Engineering Experience: Possess experience in an automotive engineering discipline.
  • Test Bed Experience: Have experience in an automotive testing environment.
  • Engine Mechanical Fundamentals: Demonstrate an excellent understanding of gasoline and diesel engine mechanical fundamentals.
  • Instrumentation Experience: Possess experience with instrumentation, including thermocouples and pressure transducers.
  • Test Automation Procedures: Create test automation procedures and schedules to maximize automated running.
  • Customer Engineering Teams: Work closely with customer engineering teams to establish and carry out test programs.
  • Engine Types: Have experience with a wide variety of engine types, including petrol, diesel, high-performance, heavy-duty, and alternative fuels.
