Position Overview

At Korus Health, we play a vital role in enhancing the services provided by the NHS by delivering ultrasound examinations to patients in their local areas. The Healthcare Support Assistant is an integral member of our clinical team, dedicated to ensuring that patients have a secure and pleasant experience during their ultrasound visits.

Key Responsibilities

We seek an individual who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care while assisting the sonographer with ultrasound procedures. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the sonographer to prepare the necessary equipment for community clinics.
  • Ensuring that the clinic room and patient lists are organized and ready prior to the first appointment of the day.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly clinic environment at the end of each day, including general housekeeping duties.
  • Adhering to information governance and confidentiality protocols.
  • Participating in training sessions to acquire essential knowledge related to medical terminology relevant to the role.
  • Possessing a valid driving license and having access to a vehicle for work-related travel.
  • Demonstrating proficient IT skills to accurately register clinics and input necessary data.
  • Exhibiting strong interpersonal skills to warmly welcome patients and ensure their comfort.
  • Understanding and promoting equality and diversity in all interactions.
  • Being attentive to patient needs by reviewing their notes before appointments and informing the sonographer of any specific requirements.
  • Advocating for patients by ensuring dignity and respect throughout all procedures.
  • Accurately recording measurements based on the sonographer's findings.
  • Inspecting clinical equipment to ensure it is in good working order and reporting any issues to the operations manager.
  • Cleaning ultrasound machines and associated equipment using appropriate materials.
  • Following infection control procedures meticulously to prevent contamination.
  • Collaborating effectively with the clinic team to facilitate clear communication with patients, aiding in accurate diagnoses.
  • Supporting the sonographer in ensuring that clinics operate smoothly and that all necessary tasks, including IT responsibilities, are completed by the end of each session.
  • Demonstrating active listening skills to assist the sonographer in reporting findings.
  • Keeping track of time to help maintain the clinic schedule.
  • Communicating confidently to foster positive interactions with the sonographer and other team members.
  • Building strong working relationships with partners in community clinics.
  • Showing the ability to work independently and take initiative to resolve any issues that may arise during clinic operations.
