Job Title: Band 7 Quality Governance Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join The Royal Free as a Band 7 Quality Governance Manager, where you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Head of Quality Governance in developing and implementing an effective quality governance framework, ensuring that patient safety and risk management are at the forefront of our services.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive quality governance strategy, aligned with national best practice and Trust standards.
  2. Lead and manage a team of divisional governance staff, ensuring that patient safety and risk management are prioritized.
  3. Collaborate with senior nursing teams and clinical governance leads to ensure investigations are completed and presented in line with Trust timescales.
  4. Develop and coordinate good integrated governance practice within the business unit, ensuring that lessons are learned and the division changes practice in a way that has a positive effect on patients and outcomes.
  5. Support the Head of Quality Governance in interpreting and assessing the relevance of national policy and guidance, providing support to governance teams regarding implementation and evaluation.
Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Professional knowledge plus additional specialist, management knowledge acquired through training and experience to Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in clinical governance.

Desirable Criteria

  • Healthcare professional
  • PSIRF approved training
  • Risk management qualification.
  • After action review facilitator

Knowledge & Experience

  • Good working knowledge of risk and incident management in relation to the NHS Patient Safety Strategy.
  • Evidence of using computer packages.
  • The facility to embrace and cut through ambiguity and complexity and to be open to creativity in leading and developing services.
  • A strong commitment to making service performance improvements and a determination to achieve positive service outcomes for users.
  • Practical and realistic with an ability to find and implement solutions to immediate problems.
  • Motivational skills to lead and manage clinical governance within the Trust.
  • Data analysis and interpretation skills.
  • Strong communications skills including report writing and presenting information.
  • Be able to devise project plans and work programmes.
  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Packages).
  • Ability to demonstrate and generate commitment to patient experience, public involvement and equality and diversity.
