About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Superintendent, Vessel Manager, Chief Engineer or Vessel Superintendent to join our team at Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our marine operations team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the assigned offshore assets, ensuring they are operated efficiently, remain seaworthy, and comply with all relevant legislation and class requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all shipboard mechanical, electrical, and navigational systems are operated and maintained safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with SOLAS, IMO, Class & Flag administration regulations, and environmental legislation.
  • Review and monitor vessel condition via electronic Engine Room Log sheets.
  • Work closely with the Special Projects/Docking function to ensure timely completion of dry dock specifications and related orders.
  • Maintain and update Planned Maintenance, Purchasing, and Defect Reporting systems both onboard and in-office.
  • Manage vessel port calls, ensuring timely completion of all scheduled work and comprehensive reporting.
  • Monitor and engage with senior ship officers to address and resolve any performance issues.
Requirements
  • Sea Going Chief Engineer, or equivalent, with relevant offshore support experience.
  • Experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in marine engineering, naval architecture, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in offshore vessel management, with a strong understanding of maritime legislation, SOLAS, IMO, Class & Flag regulations.
