Brown & Holmes is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Estimating Engineer to complement our skilled team.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze and review project specifications, component drawings, RFQ documentation, and other customer-supplied data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Propose solutions to satisfy customer requirements, collaborating with internal stakeholders as needed.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, including labor, materials, and sourcing quotations for subcontract operations.
- Identify mandatory and customer-specific requirements, incorporating cost implications into quotations submitted.
- Recognize potential risks in estimations and provide solutions to mitigate these risks.
- Create detailed tender documentation and related quotations using our MRP system (PSL Datatrack).
- Proven track record in preparing accurate and competitive estimates.
- Experience in cost estimation within a mechanical engineering role.
- Familiarity with working to customer requirements and creating final quotations with constraints identified.
- Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly at all levels.
- Ability to manage time effectively, make confident decisions, and problem-solve when required.
