Job Description

Are you looking to advance your career in the industrial automation industry? Are you looking to join a fast-growing consulting firm and become an integral part of a sales team as an Area Sales Manager to cover the West Midlands region.

My client is a leading provider of industrial automation solutions and works with a wide network of manufacturers, system integrators, and distributors.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction: Take ownership of customer interactions and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Product Knowledge: Be technically knowledgeable about all product lines sold by the business and stay up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Pre-Qualification: Pre-qualify requests for quotations with calls where appropriate and ensure accurate forecasting.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute both regional and national sales strategies to drive business growth.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of sales pipeline, customer interactions, and sales performance.
  • CRM Maintenance: Maintain CRM records for customer interactions, sales history, and marketing campaigns.
  • Cold Calling: Comfortably call new and existing customers to arrange initial meetings and follow up on sales opportunities.
  • Promotion: Actively promote product benefits and value statements to customers and prospects.
  • Marketing Events: Plan and execute marketing events throughout the year to engage with customers and promote products.
  • Account Management: Take ownership of assigned accounts, monitor sales performance, and visit customers regularly to stay informed about their business.

Qualifications:

  • Education: HNC/HND or higher in electrical or control engineering (Not essential)
  • Pressure Management: Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Personality: Friendly, approachable, and enjoys speaking to people on the phone.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills and the ability to regulate time under stressful conditions.
  • IT Skills: Proficiency in IT, especially with Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
