Food Product Innovation Specialist

Permanent Position

Location: Worksop

To achieve this, we seek a passionate individual with a genuine love for food, capable of creatively developing innovative products that resonate with consumer trends. This role requires practical expertise to transform our visionary concepts into delightful, flavorful offerings as we expand our product range into new cuisines and formats. Occasional travel to Asia may be necessary for recipe research and factory trials.

Key Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • 1-2+ years of experience in creative product development (Desirable)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes relevant to our brands, with specific knowledge in pasteurization/sterilization being advantageous
  • Degree in Food Science/Technology or a related field, HNC in Food Science/Technology, or BTEC in Food Science
  • Other food-related qualifications, particularly culinary or chef experience, will be considered
  • A true food enthusiast (Desirable) with a flair for innovative product development based on trends
  • Self-motivated individual, capable of managing projects independently while also collaborating effectively within a team
  • Desired attributes include: creativity, adaptability, ambition, curiosity, and a collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute the R&D program for New Product Development (NPD), Existing Product Development (EPD), and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives for the designated product category.
  • Lead the scale-up process through pilot plant and factory trials in collaboration with operations and technical teams at relevant sites.
  • Work autonomously and alongside marketing teams to generate new ideas and shape project directions.
  • Stay informed on current trends in cuisines, ingredients, and consumer preferences.
  • Understand ingredient functionality and collaborate with suppliers to explore exciting new opportunities.
  • Manage all aspects of documentation and processes related to projects.
  • Collaborate with Sensory and Marketing teams to establish benchmarks and conduct product assessments.
  • Leverage internal and external organizational capabilities to drive innovation.
  • Connect with technical support functions across all manufacturing sites to ensure quality standards and efficient program delivery.
