About the Role

Forbes Solicitors is seeking an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join our Public Family Team in Preston City Centre. This is a full-time role working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of Public Law Family matters, including care proceedings, and provide written and verbal legal advice to clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opponents, courts, and third parties to progress files and achieve successful outcomes.
  • Advocate in court and support other Family advisors on their cases, contributing to the department's strategy and business objectives.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor Paralegals to facilitate their professional development and business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external business requirements, including ISO:9001 quality control and SRA Principles/Code of Conduct.
  • Monitor and report on financial and business performance, delivering work in a profitable manner.
  • Contribute to internal continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Support inter-departmental collaboration on joint files, projects, and events.
  • Contribute to the development of the departmental business plan.
  • Build positive relationships with clients and enhance the firm's profile to drive business growth.
