Role

Forbes Solicitors is seeking a highly skilled Solicitor to join their Public Family Team at their Preston City Centre office.

This is a full-time role working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with Childcare matters and court proceedings, as well as experience within a Childcare Family department.

As a Solicitor in this role, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of Public Law Family matters, providing written and verbal legal advice, and advocating at Court.

You will also be responsible for supervising, training, and mentoring Paralegals to facilitate their business objectives and professional development goals.

The successful candidate will have excellent client care skills, providing professional and competent legal advice in accordance with the SRA Code of Conduct.

They will also have good writing and drafting skills, with excellent communication and technical ability.

The role will provide a sustainable work-life balance and relate to the regional area in which it is based.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of Public Law Family matters
  • Provide written and verbal legal advice
  • Advocate at Court
  • Supervise, train, and mentor Paralegals
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external business requirements
  • Monitor and report on financial and business performance
  • Contribute to business development
Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor/Legal Executive (or equivalent)
  • 2 years PQE
  • Previous experience working with Childcare matters and court proceedings
  • Previous experience within a Childcare Family department
  • Accredited Children Panel Member (desirable)
  • Good client care skills
  • Good writing and drafting skills
  • Excellent communication and technical ability
