Job Title: Director of English and Maths

Job Summary:

Suffolk New College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of English and Maths to join its Senior Management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the strategic development of the English and Maths curriculum, as well as overseeing the provision at the college's On-the-Coast campuses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a long-term strategy for the English and Maths curriculum, ensuring it is inspiring and effective in meeting the needs of students.
  • Work closely with the Curriculum Heads to design and deliver a high-quality curriculum that meets the needs of students and employers.
  • Lead and manage the Directorate to deliver an exceptional student experience, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education that prepares them for success in their chosen careers.
  • Build and develop sustainable relationships with employers and external agencies to enhance the college's reputation and provide opportunities for students.
  • Develop and implement creative and innovative solutions to improve student outcomes and experience.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in English and Maths, as well as a teaching qualification at level 5.
  • Proven experience of working in a senior leadership role, with a track record of developing and implementing successful curriculum strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
