About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Health and Safety Manager to join our leadership team at Refresco Bridgwater site in Somerset. As a key member of the site leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the site safety programme and contributing to the delivery of the UK HSE agenda.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and continuously improve the site HSE management system procedures to ensure robust processes are in place.
  • Provide technical support, advice, and guidance to managers on HS&E legal compliance and best practice.
  • Work closely with the Engineering department to deliver capital projects.
  • Play an active part in yield/waste reduction on site with the production team and contribute to the management of the Refresco Sustainability programme.
  • Actively promote a HSE culture to ensure participation is across all levels.
  • Coordinate the site Environmental Management System and Environmental Permit.
  • Provide support, assistance, and guidance to departments on risk assessment, emergency response, HSE audits and inspections, and development of HSE operating procedures.

About You

You will have extensive HSE experience, ideally working within an FMCG or related industry, manufacturing environment, with up to date knowledge of UK HSE legislation. A NEBOSH Diploma in Health & Safety or equivalent is preferred, as is a formal environmental qualification.

This role is ideal for an experienced health, safety, and environmental professional who understands the principles of risk management and has extensive experience with integrated management systems aligned with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant standards.
