The RPS Water Consultancy team is committed to providing innovative solutions and strategic support to our clients in the water sector. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the technical development and execution of clean water hydraulic models, including model creation, calibration, usage studies, and analytical assessments, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Lead project teams in delivering a wide range of water infrastructure initiatives.
  • Manage and mentor project team members, providing daily leadership, workload organization, technical guidance, and fostering career growth.
  • Ensure the quality of modelling outputs and compliance with industry standards and governance protocols.
  • Responsible for the commercial performance and forecasting of projects, including the preparation of bids and proposals.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong collaborative relationships with clients.
  • Drive continuous improvement in modelling tools, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and innovation.
  • Maintain oversight of project workloads and resource allocation.
  • Contribute to the management of health, safety, quality, and environmental considerations in all projects.
  • Occasional travel to client sites or other offices may be necessary.

About You:

  • A degree in a relevant technical discipline is preferred; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
  • Experience in water modelling using tools such as InfoWorks WS, Synergi Water, or similar software.
  • Proficiency in MS 365 applications, particularly advanced Excel and Visual Basic.
  • Familiarity with GIS systems (preferably MapInfo, ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Extensive knowledge in hydraulic modelling and related water infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with client standards.
  • Strong leadership abilities to manage and motivate teams, while providing technical mentorship.
  • Capability to manage modelling projects of varying sizes and complexities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-driven and disciplined, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Chartered membership (or working towards it) in relevant professional institutions (CIWEM, IOW, ICE, or equivalent) is a plus.
  • A valid driving license is preferred.
