Job Title: Financial Reporting Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Accountant to join our team at Hastings Direct. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP, and providing technical accounting advice to management and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review financial statements for the Group's UK subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Provide technical accounting advice to management and stakeholders on IFRS 9, IFRS 17, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Assist the Group's auditors in the year-end audit process, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Develop and maintain Group accounting policies, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with relevant accounting standards.
  • Support the accounting operations team in the preparation of technical accounting memos and discussion papers.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience in technical accounting and accounting policy development, preferably in a UK publicly listed company or Big Four.
  • Background in financial statements production or audit and banking business and accounting.
  • Knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and IFRS 17.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with management and stakeholders.
