About the Role

Stockport Council is offering a unique opportunity for a Business Administration Apprentice within the School Places, Admissions, and Transport Team. Our dedicated team is seeking a new member who embodies our values of precision, honesty, and fairness while fostering strong relationships with schools and colleagues.

This role is primarily focused on administrative tasks and requires effective communication with residents, educational institutions, and various departments within the Council. Your contributions will help ensure that children in Stockport have access to quality education and that we provide a reliable school transport service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in administrative and business support duties as part of your apprenticeship.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to facilitate school admissions and transport services.
  • Support the team in processing school place applications and appeals.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A good level of literacy and numeracy.
  • The ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficient IT skills.
  • GCSE qualifications in English and Maths.
