About our school:
I am delighted to welcome you to Acorns School. We have two sites located in Knutsford and another in Stockport, the position will be on a rotation between Acorns Ashley and Acorns Marple. The provision is a co-educational school and provides a supportive and personalised education programme for pupils aged between 5-17. The school caters for pupils with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour. The school supports pupils with social, emotional and mental wellbeing needs.
Additionally, many of our pupils present with significant social and communication difficulties influenced by trauma or complex emotional difficulties. The school prides itself on providing specialised interventions than those provided in a mainstream school.
Overview of the role of Pastoral Lead:
· Working with the Management, to be an enthusiastic champion of the students, staff, and their achievements, in order to promote the vision, sense of purpose, and pride throughout the school
· To be professional, friendly and respectful towards all colleagues and to address any concerns through proper channels
· To be professional, friendly, fair and firm with students, demonstrating values and core responsibilities
· Working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to safeguard all students in the school
· To be friendly, helpful and welcoming to parents, carers, and other visitors
· Ensure appropriate targeted intervention is applied to students from vulnerable groups, monitoring and evaluating success
· Actively promoting positive behaviour across the school
· Working closely monitoring students with Behaviour Support Plans, Pastoral Support Plans and EHCP's
· To work with the Senior Leadership Team, SENDCo and other colleagues as appropriate to support students in the school

At Acorns Ashley and Acorns Marple School:
Our students are from KS1 to KS5 with mixed gender classrooms. Our small class setting provides the necessary stability to support both a pupil's social and emotional difficulties in addition to their academic pursuit.
We pride ourselves on being able to provide specialised interventions and expertise in these issues which is not available in a mainstream school.
