About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Account Director to join our team at Ogilvy. As a key member of our retail marketing team, you will be responsible for leading key campaigns across the year, working closely with our strategy, creative, and production teams to deliver best-in-class integrated advertising campaigns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with junior and mid-level clients throughout the delivery of projects, clearly communicating and managing expectations.
    • Proactively consider how actions will affect clients, responding quickly to meet client needs, resolve problems, and avoid over-commitment.
  • Project Management
    • Understand the importance of account 'admin' and ensure timely completion of tasks, including issuing contact reports and other necessary documents.
    • Mentor and teach more junior members of the team on best account management habits.
  • Campaign Development
    • Have a near-perfect understanding of agency processes and proactively manage projects, facilitating conversations between team members and considering how to make the work even better at each stage.
    • Be able to see and critique the work in its strategic context, understanding how and why it answers a business problem and how it connects to the bigger picture.
    • Provide opinions about the brief and the work, valuing the quality of the work and how it fits within a wider brand strategy.
  • Delivery and Budget Management
    • Take responsibility for successful delivery of projects assigned to you.
    • Understand what decisions are within your remit and engage others accordingly to ensure that those who are accountable can assist and guide as needed.
    • Manage the budget on your projects, working with Client and PMO Leads to manage costs and deliverables.
  • Commercial Acumen
    • Recognize when to escalate issues with commercial implications with your Business Director.
  • Collaboration and Problem-Solving
    • Proactively consult with key members of the project teams to facilitate partnership-oriented actions.
    • Provide strategic counsel to clients, aligning their goals with effective campaign strategies.
    • Resolve problems and make decisions on your projects, consulting with stakeholders as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience at a creative agency, preferably on fast-paced retail accounts.
  • Ability to critique creative ideas against a creative strategy and campaign objectives.
  • Proven track record in successfully overseeing and delivering integrated marketing paid media campaigns across various channels.
  • Experience in coordinating and executing stills shoots, managing presentations to clients, and approvals.
  • Organized and confident, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Financially savvy, with the ability to work within client budgets and ensure successful delivery.
