Job Overview

Position: Infrastructure Project Manager

Work Arrangement: Remote

Compensation: £500 - £550 per day

Contract Status: Outside IR35

Contract Length: 6 months (potential for extension)

Role Summary:

Digital Waffle is in search of a skilled Infrastructure Project Manager to spearhead a pivotal transformation initiative aimed at transitioning legacy on-premise infrastructure to Azure. This position offers a competitive daily rate and operates outside of IR35 regulations, providing you with the necessary flexibility. You will take charge of managing comprehensive infrastructure relocations, phasing out outdated systems, and supervising substantial upgrades.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Relocation & Decommissioning: Strategically plan and implement the migration of legacy on-premise infrastructure to Azure, ensuring operational continuity. Effectively phase out obsolete systems while adhering to organizational standards.
  • Migration Oversight: Supervise the migration journey, guaranteeing a smooth transition from legacy systems to contemporary cloud-based solutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders across various levels, ensuring transparent communication and alignment on project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Project Management Methodologies: Leverage your knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies to effectively manage project schedules, deliverables, and team collaboration.
  • System Upgrades & Improvements: Oversee infrastructure enhancements to boost system performance and meet future business requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Demonstrated Experience: A solid background in infrastructure project management, particularly in managing infrastructure relocations, decommissioning, and large-scale migrations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with on-premise legacy systems and cloud technologies, especially Azure.
  • Methodological Expertise: Competence in both Agile and Waterfall project management frameworks.
  • Effective Communication: Strong stakeholder management abilities, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving capabilities, with a knack for anticipating challenges and formulating proactive solutions.
