Commissioning Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Cherry Professional. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for setting up standalone machines or entire production lines ready for use and delivering training to operators at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with the Project Coordinator to plan and execute commissioning work on-site.
  • Work with the Site Supervisor and/or Senior Installation Engineer to ensure smooth handover of installation work.
  • Commission machines according to the Acceptance Protocol, including starting the machine after installation.
  • Verify correct connection of all machine parts (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and software).
  • Provide technical support during commissioning at customer locations and communicate with the Project Coordinator.
  • Identify and address technical and planning bottlenecks.
  • Perform test runs for production based on the Acceptance Protocol.
  • Solve technical problems and record machine parameters.
  • Train machine operators on operation and maintenance.
  • Assess operator knowledge and provide feedback.
  • Focus on process improvement, quality, reporting, and safety.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and electrical systems.
  • Previous experience as a Commissioning Engineer.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret electrical drawings.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home.
  • NVQ or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
