Job Summary

The Patient Advice and Liaison Officer will work with patients, their families, carers, and the public to provide a flexible and responsive Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on behalf of NHS South Central and West Commissioning Support Unit customers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver a PALS service on behalf of NHS South Central and West Commissioning Support Unit and its customers to service users, their advocates, and the public.
  • Communicate with patients to resolve concerns and issues regarding healthcare services, providing information on health-related issues and signposting to partner organizations or external sources of support and information.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of wider clinical quality initiatives.
About the Team

The Patient Advice and Liaison Team is part of the NHS South Central and West Commissioning Support Unit Clinical Quality service. We pride ourselves on being a knowledgeable, supportive, and inclusive team. The service can be exceptionally busy and fast-paced at times, particularly when dealing with multiple meetings and administrative tasks. Therefore, this role would suit an individual who is organized, adaptable, with excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support customers, colleagues, and the wider team.

Key Requirements
  • Significant experience working with people in an advisory, support role, or customer service role.
  • Experience working within a Health, Voluntary, or Social Care Setting.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and personal communication skills.
