Position Overview

Swift Temps Ltd specializes in the design and production of customized engineering solutions and testing apparatus for diverse sectors, including automotive and defense. In response to a surge in demand and expansion, we are looking to enhance our workforce by hiring a Field Service Engineer.

Reporting Structure: This role will report directly to the Engineering Director. The primary responsibility of the Field Service Engineer is to oversee the commissioning and installation of equipment and systems, ensuring they operate safely and meet client specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting inspections of electrical installations on-site and troubleshooting as required.
  • Calibrating and configuring electronic data acquisition systems, as well as electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Performing PID tuning for standard automotive control loops.
  • Collaborating with development engineers to evaluate custom control software.
  • Adhering to established commissioning protocols and verification processes.
  • Creating detailed commissioning timelines.
  • Traveling to various sites, primarily within the UK and internationally.
Candidate Profile

  • A solid understanding of electrical systems, with the ability to interpret electrical schematics and diagnose problems effectively.
  • A degree in engineering or a relevant electrical qualification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with software development is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home as necessary.
  • A valid UK driving license.
Work Environment

This position operates on a day shift schedule from Monday to Friday, with some flexibility in working hours. The work atmosphere is characterized by a friendly, supportive, and collaborative culture.
