Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead / Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at KwickScreen. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing the design and delivery of engineering solutions for various project types and sizes.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in helping to grow and develop our team of technically competent engineers and designers, as well as seeking new opportunities to build the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and maintain full project planning schedules, allocation of the team, and priorities across projects, taking into account project dependencies, costs, and risks.
  • Provide individual contribution to projects based on personal expertise and specialism within your field.

Engineering Expertise:

  • Solving complex engineering problems and applying solutions to a broad spectrum of products and systems, with precision.
  • Constructing and testing prototypes and making the necessary modifications as testing progresses.
  • Conduct rigorous testing protocols to ensure new product development is fit for the market.
  • Produce final design information, including parts list, assembly layout, BOM's, and technical drawings.

Requirements:

  • MEng in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline.
  • Extensive technical and practical experience in mechanical engineering in the same or similar industry, including experience in leading multidisciplinary projects and teams.
  • An engineering professional with a very high level of technical competency and ideally 10+ years of experience working at a high level within mechanical engineering.
  • Proven capability in leading teams on product development, design for manufacture, new product introduction, production engineering, and continuous improvement.
  • Exhibit naturally strong leadership qualities.
  • Proven expertise in a typical 3D CAD system, ideally Solidworks or Onshape.
